South Korea's textile exports grew 34.1% in March this year

The Ministry of Knowledge and Economy of the Republic of Korea announced tentative statistics on imports and exports in March this year. The export amount was 48.6 billion U.S. dollars, up 30.3% over the same month of last year. The import amount was 45.5 billion U.S. dollars, an increase of 27.9% from the same month of last year, and the trade surplus was 3.1 billion U.S. dollars. . Cumulative exports for the January-March period of this year were US$131.81 billion, an increase of 30.4% over the same period of last year. Imports were US$123.41 billion, an increase of 25.7% over the same period of the previous year, and the trade surplus was US$8.41 billion.

Of the 13 major export items in March, except liquid crystal displays and computer exports, which declined by 3.8% and 15.7%, respectively, all other items were positive growth, with 87.8% of petroleum products, 70.1% of ships, 53.8% of general machinery, and 40.5% of automotive components. 34.1% of steel products, 34.1% of fiber products, 24.8% of automobiles, 23.8% of petrochemicals, 16.7% of home appliances, 10% of semiconductors, and 3.1% of wireless communication devices.

The main export areas are all growth. Exports to Mainland China grew by 9.2%, 13.5% for the United States, 34.7% for Japan, 7.5% for EU, 18.8% for ASEAN, 23.1% for the Middle East, and 20.8 for Central and South America %, growth of 116% in Oceania.
